Our first stop was to see the archaeological site of Mont Alban. Inhabited over a period of 1,500 years by a succession of peoples...Olmecs, Zapotecs and Mixtecs..the terraces, dams, canals, pyramids and artificial mounds of Monte Albán were literally carved out of the mountain and are the symbols of a sacred topography. Here's something else you might now know about my DH. He loves to shop. Mind you, it is possible he has never seen the inside of a grocery store and all of his clothes shopping is done online but when we go on vacation, Mr. Kinnon gets his shop ON! He is crazy for art and textiles and will spend hours and hours looking for just the right pieces to buy to bring home from our adventures. Read More...
Finally, Tropical storm Andrea has pushed north and given the Riviera Maya a chance to dry out. After being cooped up inside for a week, all the kids are anxious, knowing that exams are coming up and then the last days of school will be upon us.
