Tapas Nights at Chicago Don Jose
Let's see. Where could you possibly find authentic Spanish tapas served in a restaurant named for a famous North American city owned by a French couple? In Playa del Carmen, that's where! Every Saturday evening, the owners of Chicago Don Jose, Laurent Malveau and Pia Bragoni, are offering up a selection of tasty tapas, served in the traditional manner, straight off the bar of their popular downtown eatery. Diners will find Spanish tortillas, bruschettas with serano ham and grilled shrimp and other small plates to choose from. The selections will vary from evening to evening and range in price from $14 to $22 pesos. With wines starting from just $55 pesos per glass and $190 pesos by the bottle, these fun and economical tapas nights are sure to draw a crowd. Of course, the regular menu will also be available for diners craving the full Chicago Don Jose dining experience.
Chicago Don Jose is located on Calle 6 in Playa del Carmen. Tapas are only served on Saturday nights from 5:30 pm until late but the dining room is open for business Tuesday through Sunday from 5pm until Laurent is tired and needs to go home and feed their new baby.
