Texas Rib Night at Cafe Ole in Puerto Aventuras
In a departure from our usual Friday date night in Playa, Rob and I brought Jilly with us to meet up with J.J. and Kim and a group of their visiting friends down in Puerto Aventuras for "all you can eat" Texas BBQ rib night at Gary's Cafe Ole International. We haven't eaten here in probably over a year and I had forgotten how much fun it is! The ribs were delicious, but of course, instead of waiting to stuff myself silly with sticky melt in your mouth pork, I loaded up on appetizers. Even after the hot spinach dip, popcorn shrimp and salad, I did easily make it through a whole rack! They were cooked perfectly, a little heavy on the sauce for this girl, but otherwise, finger lickin' good! Barefoot Skinny, Bad Brad and our host Gary entertained a full house of happy diners and J.J. even sat in for a few songs after dinner. The reparte was hysterical between the members of this "band" made up of accomplished musicians, each in their own right, a "front man". I managed to get a great part of it on video. I've been trying to upload it for hours now with no luck (darn pokey internet connection). Looks like you will be spared this time Skinny!!!

Cafe Ole is located on the dolphin marina in Puerto Aventuras just across the street from the entrance to The Omni Hotel. Open daily from 8:00am til 11:00pm, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with live music Wednesday, Friday and Sunday evenings!
