Superbowl 2009 at PG's Sandbox Bar and Grill
We had a tough decision to make this year when choosing our Superbowl venue for this year. The re-opening of the bar at Mom's Hotel by our good pal and favorite German, Jurgen, meant that this year, the event would be shown in several of our usual local haunts. Ultimately, we ended up with 250 or so other American football fans at PG's Sandbox Bar and Grill. Our family had such a great time there for last year's game, so when asked, that was where the kids wanted to go. Arriving early, to make the most of the big day, we were entertained by "Crazy Train", a band out of Mexico City and Big Mike, a new local musician who is already gaining quite a following. The bar was well staffed and the service was excellent considering the enormous crowd. I can't imagine how many buckets of cold beer were sold throughout the day, not to mention all the great bar munchies. We had reserved a table in advance and sat with friends Jim and Cheryl from Atlanta, Kim Warawa from Canada, Cowboy, English Stuart, Chris Bolister, Aunt Jilly, and John from In the Roo, who was a good sport considering his limited party diet of plain peanuts and water. (Missed you Libby) It was a lot of fun and inarguably one of the best, most exciting Superbowl games, ever. The only thing that could have made it better is if our Giants were playing. There's always next year!!

That's right! The breakfast of champions.
