Now that I am back in school every morning (more on that later) I find that my schedule is getting really tight. My blogging has become less frequent. My message board activities are sporadic. I have been sorely neglecting my fellow blogger pals for the past few weeks (Apologies to all. You know who you are.) Worst of all, my free time with my kids is cut into as well. Now that the little one's are getting older, they are involved in their own extracurricular activities and, where as last year, we had all afternoon to hang out together and play, now I don't see them most days until five o'clock. In response to this, Cole and I have come up with our own special bi-weekly activity, just so that we can do something "special" together, just me and him. What do you do with a five year old boy in the limited space of 45 minutes every other Monday? Why, have an outing at the Salpicar Carwash, of course! Seriously, what kid doesn't like the carwash with all those spraying nozzles and spinning brushes? The sheer suspense of whether or not the windows are properly closed so as to not allow the water in is enough to make my son apoplectic. He takes particular joy in critiquing the work of the manual "detailers", always looking for spots they have missed. Rarely does he find any ;) These guys are good.

Salpicar exemplifies some of what I love about Mexico. Need to get your car washed? Sit down. Relax. Have beer. Better yet, have a bucket of beer while you wait. Mix em' up anyway you like for only $75 pesos! For me, just one Pacifico, gracias, and a Fanta Naranja for Cole. The wireless internet is FREE!

Beer not striking your fancy? Looking for something a little stronger (and really, who isn't) before you set out on your journey? Just for you, they have a full bar available as well. (I wonder how many Cuba Libres I can pound back in 45 minutes? Hmmm.)

Just to be on the safe side, you might want to soak up some of that booze with a bit of food. Fortunately, they serve up the most delicious yet mysterious tacos called Tacos de Villamelon. I'm not sure what's in them but I can tell you they are of a color not often found in nature. For those of you with a more timid palate, they serve up good looking hamburgers and traditional tortas and what is, in my opinion, the best meat in Playa, Arrachera Mandi. You can even take home a frozen kilo for dinner. Sweet.

But, really, a girl on the go, like me, should always be looking for ways to maximize her time and efforts. What could be more time efficient than squeezing in a quick mani-pedi or discreet removal of some unsightly hairs while your car is being scrubbed and vacuumed? Veronica's Salon is here and ready to meet your personal grooming needs. Really, I can't imagine why someone did not think of this value added service before.

I am ruined for life and can never go back to the run-of-the-mill "lava-coche". No sir. It is Salpicar for me from now on! God, I love Mexico!

Salpicar is located on the west side of the Carratera Federal 307 on the corner of Calle 5 sur, before Centro Maya.
