Welcome to Life's a Beach" - A Blog about Life and Real Estate in Playa del Carmen

Michele Kinnon Welcome to my first Blog post for "Life's a Beach"! If you have stumbled upon this post, you may be asking yourself "How can this be the FIRST post when, clearly, she has archives all the way back to May?" Because, apparently, I AM DOING IT ALL WRONG!! On good advisment from my SEO consultant, I did my homework before jumping into the world of Real Estate blogging. I read other real estate blogs. I read blogs about real estate blogs. I read blogs about blogs about real estate blogs. While by now, my head is spinning with the "ins and outs" and the "dos and don'ts" of real estate blogging, the consensus is clear: One does not post Real Estate Listings in one's blog. It would have been nice to know this before I checked the little box marked "Make a blog post about this listing". Instead, I, in my ignorance and my eagerness to utilize any avenue available to promote these listings, just merrily checked away at every box in front of me.

So, what's a girl to do now? Do I delete all the archives before this post? Do I pretend they do not exist and move on? Is there a way to tastefully blend blogging and marketing? It seems to me that selectively posting information about properties of particular interest...really good investments...unusual deals...construction updates...and things of that nature may actually be beneficial to one's blog and its readers. It is my hope that you, the reader, will either forgive the shameless promotion attempts, or, better still, will be interested in the new listings we choose to spotlight in this venue.

As we are now teetering on the brink of our high season here in Playa del Carmen, I may not have too much time to dedicate to this blog in the weeks to come. I'll do my best to drop in with a restaurant review or an announcement of interesting local events. I hope you'll visit often and let me know what YOU would like to read about in this space. Relocating to Playa del Carmen? Looking for the neighborhood to live in? Choosing a school here for your children? Need to learn Spanish? We have lived through it all and I am happy to share our experiences, both positive and negative, with you. I look forward to your feedback.
