On November 26, 2011 The Ritz Carlton in Cancun will host the 5th Annual Culinary Festival and Silent Auction to Benefit Teleton.org. Some of the finest restaurants in Cancun will be putting on their best show and featuring their signature dishes at this much anticipated culinary and social event! The Red Cross of Playa del Carmen is holding a fundraising bazaar next Saturday, November 26th in its location on the corner of Avenida 25 and Juarez. In preparation for this event, El Papalote School has been selected as the location to meet, gather and organize the materials to sell and distribute. Needed are donations of clothing, footwear, household goods, toys and books - all semi-new but clean and in good condition will be gladly accepted. Read More...
There will be an event on November 17th in front of the ADO Bus Station in Tulum with music, dance, refreshments and a raffle to support this new endeavor. This is not only a fundraiser but also an opportunity to raise awareness in the community. Admission is only $50 mn per person and includes a beverage and a raffle ticket. November 25, 2011 there will be a concert to raise funds for S.O.S. El Arca, a non profit animal protection organization tasked with the heartbreaking job of helping the many unfortunate dogs who find themselves behind bars on Playa del Carmen perrera's death row. Thousands of dogs enter the doors of the Municipal dog pound. Some are found by frantic owners and return safely to their homes. Most are not so fortunate. S.O.S. El Arca watches over these poor dogs and makes sure they are fed and attended to in their last days. It's a terrible job but thank goodness the folks from S.O.S. El Arca have the heart to do it.
