Cancun Riviera Maya Wine and Food Festival 2014 Appeals to the Destination’s Luxury Tourism Market
Now in its third year, the Cancun Riviera Maya Wine and Food Festival
is going even stronger than ever! While most of last year's festival events
were hosted at different locations around the Riviera Maya, the 2014 edition
will mostly take place in the Cancun area.
As always, the 2014 Cancun Riviera Maya Wine and Food Festival will
include appearances by numerous top chefs from around the globe with cook-offs
and cooking demonstrations, featuring star guests Chef Boulud and Chef Guillermo
Beristain. Attendees can also enjoy spectacular tasting events for wine, mezcal
and champagne with some of the best international sommeliers. Angélica
Olivares, Marketing VP for the festival, says, "It's easy to say
things like ‘we will have the best sommelier in the world', but it has a huge
impact on Mexico and the destination."
The event's founder, David Amar, states that the festival's goal is to
"showcase the world's food and wine projects and the stories behind it... Even
more than the names, it's the story behind WHY." The Cancun Riviera Maya Wine
and Food Festival is part of the Riviera Maya Tourism Board's efforts to
attract even more luxury tourism to this stunning beach destination, creating
upscale events that have shown great appeal for Mexican, American and Canadian
luxury travelers over the past few years.
It's clear that the Cancun Riviera Maya Wine and Food Festival not
only strives to provide great food and wine-related experiences for its guests,
but also to raise the bar and increase the luxury market for the destination as
a whole.
In 2014, the festival will include events like:
- Tastings for whiskey, mezcal, champagne and wine
- Conferences by star chefs
- Interactive cooking challenges where celebrity chefs face off
- Catamaran sunset dinner to Isla Mujeres
- Celebrity dinners
- The popular Gourmet Tasting Village at the Moon Palace Arena
The Cancun Riviera Maya Wine and Food Festival website features the
full details on the chefs and events you can enjoy, and the festival is coming up in just a few days! Mark your calendars for March 13 - 16, 2014.
