July 12- 21, 2012 Gran Velas French Culinary Festival
With the motive of honoring the 223rd anniversary of the French revolution, Grand
Velas Riviera Maya has organized a culinary festival from July 12th through
July 21st, 2012, as is their annual custom. The
festival headquarters will be the distinguished specialty restaurant, Piaf,
which is part of the culinary tour of this exclusive resort. The chefs charged
with preparing and achieving this authentic French culinary experience will be
the recognized chef Jacques Chretien and the executive chef of Piaf, Michel
Mustiere.

Chef Mustiere has more than 20 years of experience and through the years he has
managed to perfect his style, resulting in cuisine with contemporary style and a
delicate presentation. The chef Jacques Chretien also has more than 20 years of
experience and in 2005 received the title Maitre Cuisinier of France. It is
necessary to emphasize that only 5 chefs in Mexico are bestowed with this distinction.
Examples of the cuisine that a connoisseur may enjoy are: Duck Foie Gras Terine,
Confit of Ox Tail and Gratín fresh pastas filled with duxelle. The menu will also
include a large variety of other meats, fish and seafood creations.
