It's true. Children dream of being princesses and firemen, veterinarians and astronauts, musicians and ballerinas. They do not dream of being real estate agents. That just...happens. It's not a bad career, of course. If you are good at it, it can be remarkably lucrative and satisfying. It's just nobody's lifetime ambition.

But, if you find that you have stumbled into the world of real estate, there can be no finer place to do it than in Playa del Carmen. You get to fulfill people dreams everyday and you sure can't beat the view. Most days it's all luxury condos and golf course villas but every once in a while, the job takes us on an adventure.

I moved to Mexico with my family in 2004 with the hope of offering our children a more global education and world view. Since then, we have traveled through Mexico, Belize and Guatemala, gathering friends and life experiences and learning a lot about ourselves along the way. Job Description: Support operations of a small real estate company by maintaining office systems and supervising staff. Reports to Principal Owner/Broker.

Responsibilities:

Supervise the daily activities of in-office administrative and social media staff.
Assign tasks and monitor the activities of virtual assistants.
Complete operational requirements by scheduling employees and assigning tasks; monitor work results.
Maintain office efficiency by establishing and implementing office systems, procedures and policies.
Keep management informed by analyzing employee work results and productivity.
Train new administrative employees and virtual assistants.
Discipline employees as necessary within established legal framework.
Establish and maintain communication with Buyers and Sellers and provide reports as needed and instructed.
Coordinate with agents to collect, organize and file property information and images and create compelling real estate listings for web distribution.
Maintain computerized filing systems and monitor database usage and management.
Maintain employee files and coordinate with Payroll Company as needed.
Maintain employee work schedules and office vacation calendar.
Manage equipment and office supply procurement.

Skills/Qualifications: Native English speaker. Working knowledge of Spanish a big plus. Must have strong written and verbal communications skills and be able to write real estate listings. The right candidate will be mature, organized and self-motivated. No experience in real estate required.

Salary: Based on experience.

Applications are now being accepted at ONDARTE Artist Residency Program in Akumal, Mexico. ONDARTE was born from the desire to support international artists and promote cultural exchange between creators from all walks of life. Alec Von Bargen, the founder of ONDARTE, is an artist. Maribel Bianchi, the residency director is an artist at heart who has been surrounded by art and artists her entire life.

The new ONDARTE Artist Residence offers a pristine environment in the heart of the Riviera Maya, perfect for the interaction of artists with nature. ONDARTE'S grounds are spread out over 2 hectares. Team Lemmus Wins 2011 Copa del Rey Polo Tournament

Team Lemmus Takes Home the 2011 Copa del Rey Polo Tournament!

The 5th Annual Copa del Rey International Polo Tournament was played this year in an exciting multi-day contest at El Rey Polo Club in Puerto Morelos. Set in the middle of the jungle, this world class field brought six teams face-to-face in this highly anticipated competition. Ranked as a 4-6 goal event this year, the Copa del Rey welcomed players from the United States, Canada, Argentina, Germany, Switzerland, Cuba, and of course, Mexico. The teams included defending champions from GQ Magazine as well as teams representing Porsche, Volaris, Lemmus, Now Resorts and Spa, and In Riviera Magazine. Corporate Sponsors for the event also included Palace Resorts, Hotel Me Cancun, Argentinean polo apparel maker Cuatro Tacos and Havana Club.

The 2011Tournament was officially opened with a Mayan blessing and the soulful call of the conch shell. Dancing, music, and the ritual burning of sage honored the field, the players and the horses during a traditional ceremony, performed by representatives of the local Maya community. In the 5 years since its inception, the Copa del Rey Polo Tournament has grown into a five day festival of fashion shows and social events mixed with the heart-pounding game of polo, the sport of Kings.

In the end, GQ Magazine was unable to defend the top position and finished 6th overall. Diego Velarde of winning club Lemmus was awarded "Most Valuable Player" of this year's championship meet.The official tournament results are as follows:
