Beginning this Saturday November 26, Spanish Joyfully with Katya and Felipe will be offering FREE conversational Spanish Classes!

Classes will meet on Saturdays from 4:30pm - 5:45pm at El Racó on Ave. 25 between calles 28 y 26 (in the Casona Bldg.)

*El Racó is offering the group a 10% discount on all food and beverage items!
*All levels of Spanish students are welcome!
*We will play "Vocabulary Bingo" to support conversation with mixed levels of Spanish
*This is a great way to work on your Spanish and make new friends!

In lieu of tuition a DONATION is kindly requested with all proceeds going to:

We offer a wide range of options for the student to personalize their learning experience. In our small, intimate classrooms (centrally located) we offer: private lessons; lessons for groups of 2-5; conversation classes; special events (cooking!) and game nights. Additionally we offer: classes of special interest requiring specific vocabulary; classes "to go", either in home or at some of the most beautiful places in Playa del Carmen, and long distance lessons via Skype. If at the end of the day you wish to play some more, we offer weekly Salsa lessons as well! All of this at deliciously reasonably prices!

This Friday Kids Way class:

Honesty is going to be the theme of the class. We will talk about why honesty is so important in building strong relationships with others and how strong relationships with others creates a happy and fulfilling life. Breathing exercises, sun salutes, practicing back bends and head stands, an art project and maybe a surprise guest! We will close the class with an ancient mantra that promotes peace. :)

Class will be from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Children ages 5 - 8 are welcome. Parents please arrive on time and bring your child up to the studio level. Comfy clothes and a bottle of water are suggested. See you there!

On November 26, 2011 The Ritz Carlton in Cancun will host the 5th Annual Culinary Festival and Silent Auction to Benefit Teleton.org. Some of the finest restaurants in Cancun will be putting on their best show and featuring their signature dishes at this much anticipated culinary and social event!

Tonight at Off the Vine in Playa del Carmen, another fabulous wine pairing dinner with Ricardo and his culinary team! this week, one of my favorites, Selini Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, two Malbec blends from Argentina and an Italian sparkling wine to go with dessert!

If you haven't yet attended one of Off the Wine's weekly wine events, don't let this pass you by! It is a favorite of Playa locals and fills up regularly. Reservations are recommended 984-803-5244.

Off the Vine is located in the Royal Oasis Building on Ave. 1 between calles 26 and 28. Seating for dinner is at 8:00 pm.

Nov. 19, 2011 - Saturday Tianguis at Parque la Ceiba

Saturday November 19, 2011, from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, Parque la Ceiba will hold its regular "tianguis" (pronounced tee-an-geese). Tianguis is a Nahuatl word from the Aztecs which refers to an open-air market. The Mexican tianguis, traditionally, will be set up on a certain day in certain neighborhood. Markets can be specialized to one particular product or varied, taking on the feel of a flea market.

The tianguis at Parque la Ceiba attracts craftspeople and artisans to gather and offer their wares and services. Local families and small farmers will offer fresh produce, the park's nursery will be selling indigenous plants and consultations with traditional Maya healers will be available. The park is open to the public free of charge and is a wonderful gathering place for local families.
