Feb. 3, 2012 - The Kid's Way Yoga Class (Shauca)
The Kid's Way Themes that we have covered so far:
Ahimsa: non-violence
Santosha: happiness/contentment
Samadi: the light within/Pure Bliss
Prana: our life force
Apana: letting go of what is not needed.
Amazingly the kids remember the topics and their sanscrit meaning! No matter what belief system your family follows, there is no doubt that the topics we are sharing are universally great for children to learn, think and talk about. This week we will talk about Shauca: purity or cleanliness.
We will start the class with learning about our topic followed with some breathing and grounding exercises with OMs and chanting, then we will move into some funky sun salutes, and an exercise where each child gets a chance to briefly lead the class, movements that encourage children to participate in family activities of organization in the home, an art project and our weekly closing chant that ends in an OM and promotes peace and harmony. Wont you join us this week?
