Oct. 13 - 16 2011 - 9th Annual Marine Turtle Festival in Tulum
The 9th annual Marine Turtle Festival is scheduled for October 13 - 16 2011 in Tulum. For eight years, the Festival de la Tortuga Marina has been a tradition in Quintana Roo. This event, much anticipated by residents and visitors alike will feature events on the beaches of Tulum and Xcacel-Xcacelito as well as la Casa de Cultura and the Center for the Interpretation of Nature and Maya Culture.
The activities and events have been designed to raise awareness about the protection of the various species of marine turtles that are at risk. The activities include artistic, environmental and cultural disciplines. Information will also be available about the many organizations working to preserve the sea turtles and how you can contribute.
